Le produit d’une matrice A par un scalaire k, noté kA ou Ak, est la matrice de même format que A obtenue en multipliant tous les éléments de A par k.
Exemple
Soit la matrice : A = \(\begin{pmatrix} 3 & 6 & 7\\4 & 8 & 5\end{pmatrix}\).
Alors : 4\(\begin{pmatrix} 3 & 6 & 7\\4 & 8 & 5\end{pmatrix}\) = \(\begin{pmatrix} 12 & 24 & 28\\16 & 32 & 20\end{pmatrix}\).
