Tangent Function

Function of {x ∈ [latex]\mathbb{R}[/latex] | x ≠ [latex]\dfrac{π}{2}[/latex] + kπ, où k ∈ [latex]\mathbb{Z}[/latex]} in [latex]\mathbb{R}[/latex] defined by [latex]f(x) = \dfrac{\sin (x)}{\cos (x)}[/latex].

Notation

The tangent function is noted as “tan(x)” which is read as “tangent of x.” Some English texts use the notation “tg(x).”

Example

The representation of the base function defined by the relation f(x) = tan(x) is: Fonction Tangente
