Subtraction of Real Numbers
Operation that associates with every ordered pair of numbers (x, y), called the terms of the subtraction, a new number (x − y) called the difference of the two terms.
Examples
- 5.6 – 3.2 = 2.4
- 5π – 3π = 2π
- 5[latex]sqrt{2}[/latex] – 2[latex]sqrt{2}[/latex] = 3[latex]sqrt{2}[/latex]
