Stem and Leaf Diagram
Diagram that allows you to study the data in the distribution of a statistical variable and to make a graphic representation of it simultaneously.
Each individual piece of data is represented by its stem (first digits common to several pieces of data) and its leaf (the final digits of the same data).
Example
Consider the set of data in this distribution representing the height in centimetres of the players on a secondary school basketball team: {152, 152, 154, 160, 161, 161, 162, 163, 163, 173, 173, 175, 175, 178}.
Each stem (numbers on the left) represents tens of centimetres, while the leaves (numbers on the right) represent centimetres.
