Relationship between two magnitudes expressed as a quotient of the two magnitudes.
Examples
There are 4 blue balls and 6 white balls in a box.- The ratio between the number of blue balls and the number of white balls is [latex]\dfrac{4}{6}[/latex].
- The ratio between the number of blue balls and the total number of balls is [latex]\dfrac{4}{10}[/latex].
- The ratio between the number of white balls and the number of blue balls is [latex]\dfrac{6}{4}[/latex].
