Functions

Polynomial Function

Function f characterized by a relationship of the form [latex]f\left ( x \right )=a_{n}x^{n}+a_{n-1}x^{n-1}+a_{n-2}x^{n-2}+...+a_{1}x+a_{0}[/latex] where [latex]a_{n}[/latex] is non-zero and the [latex]a_{i}[/latex] are real numbers or complex numbers. The number n indicates the degree of the polynomial function.

Example

The function f defined on the set of real numbers by the relationship [latex]f\left ( x \right ) = x^{3} - 7x^{2} + 5x + 12[/latex] is a third-degree polynomial function. Its graph is the following : polynomial_function
