Measure of Central Tendency
Number that represents the centre of a distribution and the position of the various values of the distribution in relationship to this centre.
Example
This distribution provides a list of the ages of 25 students in a grade 6 class. 10, 10, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 11, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 13, 13, 13, 13, 13- The mean is: [latex]\overline{X}[/latex] = [latex]\dfrac{295}{25}[/latex] = 11,8
