Longitude

One of the spherical coordinates of a point on the Earth's surface defined by the angular distance between the point and the prime meridian.

Longitude is usually expressed in spherical degrees.
All points on the same meridian have the same longitude.

Example

The point P is located at 45° north latitude and 80° east longitude.

Educational note

According to the ISO 6709 international standard from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the order of the elements is latitude, longitude and altitude.
