Locating Objects or Points in a Plane

Determining the location (address) of an object or point in a plane by using the coordinates of the object or point.
The coordinates are not necessarily numbers. The two axes are not necessarily perpendicular. The subdivisions on the axes are not necessarily the same.

Example

The coordinates of the heart are (f, 6) The coordinates of the star are (c, 3)
