Literal Expression

Expression in which the numbers or magnitudes are represented by letters.
Most common geometric formulas, such as the formula used to calculate the area A of a circle, A = π[latex]{r}^{2}[/latex], are literal expressions.

Example

The expression A[latex]{x}^{2}[/latex] + Bx + C = 0 is a literal expression.
