Example

The two vectors [latex]\overrightarrow{u}[/latex] and [latex]\overrightarrow{v}[/latex] represented below are linearly dependent because there are two non-zero real numbers α and β for which:α[latex]\overrightarrow{u}[/latex] +β[latex]\overrightarrow{v}[/latex] = 0.
