Portion of a line bounded by two points called the endpoints of the segment.
The length of a line segment is the distance between the endpoints of the segment.
Symbol
The line segment bounded by points A and B is denoted by [latex]\overline{\textrm{AB}}[/latex], which is read "the line segment with endpoints A and B" or "the segment AB".
Example
- This is a segment AB with endpoints A and B. The length of line segment AB is 6 cm, which is written : m[latex]\overline{\textrm{AB}}[/latex] = 6 cm.
