Z-Score (Or Standard Score) of a Datum

Statistical characteristic of a statistical datum x equal to [latex]\dfrac {x-\overline{x}} {\sigma }[/latex], where [latex]\overline{x}[/latex] is the arithmetic mean and σ is the standard deviation of the statistical series.
The Z-score corresponds to the number of standard deviations separating a result from the mean. This score is one of the coordinates primarily used to assess student performance at the college level by universities.
