System of Inequalities

A finite set of inequalities that can be verified simultaneously.

A system of inequalities in two variables can be represented in a Cartesian plane using the graph of each inequality. The points of intersection of these graphs are the solutions to the system.

Example

Consider the system of inequalities defined by the following relationships:  y ≥ 2x  and  y ≥ 4x² − 1.
