Square Metre

Unit of measure of surface that corresponds to the area of a square with 1 metre sides.
The square metre is a unit of measurement that is used to calculate area (the area being the measure of the surface considered).

Properties

  • One square metre is equal to 100 square decimetres and we write: 1 m[latex]^{2}[/latex] = 100 dm[latex]^{2}[/latex]
  • One square metre is equal to 10 000 square centimetres and we write: 1 m[latex]^{2}[/latex] = 10 000 cm[latex]^{2}[/latex]
  • One square metre is equal to 1 000 000 square millimetres and we write: 1 m[latex]^{2}[/latex] = 1 000 000 mm[latex]^{2}[/latex]
