To create a sequence of the multiples of a whole number, multiply a whole number that is different from 0 by the sequence of whole numbers.

### Notation

The notation of the set of multiples of a whole number *n* is “mult(*n*)” which is read as: “the set of multiples of *n*“.

### Properties

- The sequence of integer multiples of 8 is: mult(8) = {…, –40, –32, –24, – 16, –8, 0, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, …}
- The sequence of multiples of a whole number is an infinite sequence.

### Examples

- 8 × 0 = 0
- 8 × 1 = 8
- 8 × 2 = 16
- 8 × 3 = 24
- Etc.

The sequence of whole number multiples of 8 is: mult(8) = {0, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, …}
