Set of the end points of the ordered pairs of a function.

Notation

The range of a function f is noted as Range(f) and is read as “the range of f“.

Example

This graph represents the step function defined in \(\mathbb{R}\) in the relation f(x) = 0.5[x] + 0.5. Its domain is \(\mathbb{R}\) and its range is: {…, −2.5; −2; −1.5; −1; −0.5; 0; 0.5; 1; 1.5; 2; 2.5; …}.
