Direction of Rotation
The direction of a rotation in a plane that can be defined in terms of the angle of rotation. If the angle of rotation is positive, the direction of rotation is counterclockwise. If the angle of rotation is negative, then the direction of rotation is clockwise.

In this illustration, the rotation of centre O and angle a is a negative rotation; that is, its direction of rotation is negative.
