Union
The combination of various objects into a whole.
- The union of sets : Consider two sets A and B within the universe U. The union of sets A and B is the set of elements in U that belong to either set A or set B or both. Therefore, the union of A and B is both the operation, denoted by [latex]\cup [/latex], and the result of this operation, which is the set of elements that belong to A or to B.
- The union of geometric objects : The set of points that belong to various objects in geometric space.
