Truncated Pyramid

A polyhedron obtained by cutting a pyramid with a plane that is not parallel to its base and that intersects all its generatrices.

  • Of the two resulting polyhedra, that which does not contain the apex of the pyramid is called a truncated pyramid.
  • If the plane that cuts the pyramid is parallel to the base, the truncated pyramid is called a frustum of a pyramid.
