Solid generated by a full rotation of a plane figure about a line called the axis of revolution.
Examples

- The rotation of a right triangle about one of the sides of the right angle generates a cone of revolution, also called a right circular cone.
- The rotation of a rectangle about one of its sides generates a cylinder of revolution, also called a right circular cylinder.
- The rotation of a semicircle about its diameter generates a sphere.
