Term used to refer to a curve, figure, or lines in which all of the points do not belong to the same plane.

  • A spiral representing a spring is an example of a skew curve.
  • The surface of a sphere is a skew surface.

Educational Note

The term “skew” is not opposed to the term “right”. For example, a cone that is not right is said to be oblique and not skewed.
