Any of the four regions created when a plane is divided by the axes of a Cartesian coordinate system.
  • The quadrants are numbered counterclockwise, starting from the upper right quadrant.
  • The Cartesian plane has four quadrants.
  • The points on the axes of the Cartesian plane do not belong to any quadrant.
