Equation in which the solutions can be expressed as functions of parameters.
Examples
- The equation Ax² + Bx + C = 0 is a parametric equation.
Its solutions are \(x_1=\dfrac {-B+\sqrt {B^{2}-4AC}} {2A}\)et \(x_2=\dfrac {-B-\sqrt {B^{2}-4AC}} {2A}\). - The equation y = mx + 12 is a parametric equation with a parameter m.
- The equation xy = k is a parametric equation with a parameter k.
