Inverse Variation

Inverse Variation

Relationship of the form xy = k in which the product k of the two variables is a constant.

Example

Maxime covered a distance of 200 km at a speed of 100 km/h. Therefore, we have the relationship d = vt where d is the distance, v is the speed and t is the time. If the speed is lowered, it will take more time to cover the same distance. If the speed is increased, it will take less time. This is an inverse variation.
