Inequality
Mathematical statement that contains one or more variables and a relation of inequality.
Symbols
The symbols for the relation of inequality are :- "<" which is read as "is less than"
- ">" which is read as "is greater than"
- "≤" which is read as "is less than or equal to"
- "≥" which is read as "is greater than or equal to"
Examples
- In [latex]\mathbb{N}[/latex], the solution set of the inequality [latex]x + 5 > 12[/latex] is : {8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, ...}.
- In [latex]\mathbb{R}[/latex], the solution set of the inequality [latex]15 + 7 ≥ x[/latex] is : ]–∞, 22].
