Function f of {x ∈ \(\mathbb{R}\)  | xkπ where k ∈ \(\mathbb{Z}\)} in \(\mathbb{R}\) defined f(x) = \(\dfrac{1}{\textrm{tan}(x)}\).

Notation

The cotangent function is noted as “cot(x)” and is read as “cotangent of x.”

We sometimes see the notation “cotg(x)” to indicate “cotangent of x.
