Set of the parts of the universe of possible outcomes of a random experiment

Each part of the universe of possible outcomes is called an event in a random experiment.

Example

In the experiment that consists of rolling a regular die with six faces and noting the result that appears on the top face, the universe of events is the set {∅, {1}, {2}, {3}, {4}, {5}, {6}, {1, 2}, {1, 3}, {1, 4}, {1, 5}, {1, 6}, {2, 3}, {2, 4}, … , {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}}, or the set of the 64 parts of the set of possible outcomes {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}.
