In a theory, a demonstrable proposition that results from other propositions that are already demonstrated or accepted without proof, such as axioms or postulates.
Etymological Note
The word theorem comes from the Greek théorêma (θεωρημα), which means “object of study” or “object of contemplation”. The words theory and theatre have the same root.
