Term that refers to that which can be inverted, has an inverse, or whose components can be interchanged.

Examples

  • The number 2 is invertible, since it has an inverse, that is : \(\frac{1}{2}\).
    Therefore : \(2 × \frac{1}{2}\) is equal to 1.
  • The number 0 is not invertible.
