In proportional sequences, the ratio of a term in the first sequence to the term of same rank in the second sequence.
The proportionality constant is equal to the inverse of the coefficient of proportionality.

Consider the following proportional sequences :

In this case, the proportionality constant is \(\frac{2}{7}\).
